River's Edge
I have done many pictures of the Mississippi River, but this drawing is really about the trees hanging over the water, which is the famous river. What most attracted my attention to this scene was the gaping wound in the tree. It was an interesting "sculptural" form, but one that threw the whole scene out of balance. I liked this imbalance so I focused on it in the picture.
